- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup dairy-free margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1 cup chopped raisins - optional
- 1 cup chopped nuts - optional
Cooking Directions - Preheat your oven to 375ºF.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly.
- Add applesauce and egg to the creamed mixture.
- Gradually stir in the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the raisins and nuts if using.
- Drop by teaspoonful two or three inches apart onto greased baking sheet.
- Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls two or three inches apart onto greased baking sheets.
- Bake the cookies for about 12 minutes.
