Satay Sauce (Vegan, Gluten-Free) |

Ingredients: - 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 cup peanut butter, smooth or crunchy (your choice)
- 8 teaspoons wheat-free tamari (or soy-sauce)
- 1/3 cup sweet chilli sauce
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- one 270 ml can (just over 1 cup) coconut milk
In a saucepan or fry pan sauté onion and garlic until cooked through. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Use as a marinade for tofu, as a dipping sauce, or with chicken to make a satay chicken (or tofu) pizza (no cheese required and very yum). Quote this article on your site | Print
