Satay Sauce (Vegan, Gluten-Free) PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup peanut butter, smooth or crunchy (your choice)
  • 8 teaspoons wheat-free tamari (or soy-sauce)
  • 1/3 cup sweet chilli sauce
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • one 270 ml can (just over 1 cup) coconut milk

In a saucepan or fry pan sauté onion and garlic until cooked through. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Use as a marinade for tofu, as a dipping sauce, or with chicken to make a satay chicken (or tofu) pizza (no cheese required and very yum).
