Updated February 2023! This isn’t a purely dairy-free chain. Juice it Up does use dairy yogurt and sherbet in many of their menu items. But we found out what substitutions they will make at no charge to make any of their smoothies, smoothie bowls, or acai bowls dairy-free. Plus, we like how Juice It Up shuns added sugars. Unlike many other big smoothie shops, they solely use fruit to sweeten.
Juice It Up Blends Dairy-Free Options into Their Menu
Several years ago, Juice it Up added a plant-based line, and began incorporating some dairy-free “boosts” into their menu. We’ve outlined these options below. Be aware of special order requirements in parentheses () next to the menu items, and see the Heads Up notes to help fill in the blanks.
Other Allergen & Dietary Notes: All of the following are also vegan unless otherwise noted. Juice It Up does not add sweeteners, like honey, to their smoothies or bowls. We have been told by readers that their staff will use a clean blender and open new ingredient packages as requested to help prevent cross contamination with smoothie and bowl orders. And in theory, their juicer only processes fruits and vegetables.
Smoothies
- Berry Lavender Smoothie (not vegan) (seasonal)
- Ultimate Acai Smoothie
- Superfruit Sunrise Smoothie
- The Greentox Smoothie (seasonal)
- The Greens
- The Reds
- The Turmeric
Classic and Protein Smoothies: The rest of these contain either dairy yogurt or sherbet. But a representative from Juice it Up told us “any smoothie that has yogurt or sherbet can be substituted for additional fruit at no cost. The only exception that would result in an upcharge would be substituting for acai, or dragon fruit.” You can also request soy or collagen for the protein in the protein smoothies at Juice It Up.
Raw Juices
All Dairy-Free & Vegan-Friendly: At last check, all of the juices and shots at Juice It Up were made without dairy.
