We discovered this option via the LA Times. The menu of mix and match grilled (never fried) vegetables, herbs, artisanal tofu (who knew?) and sustainable meats raised without antibiotics and hormones looks somewhat like Chipotle’s style, and for good reason. Chipotle is the parent company, but rather than Mexican, ShopHouse offers bowls with flavors from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
And, guess what? The menu at ShopHouse is entirely gluten-free and dairy-free! Thus far, they have fledgling locations at opposite ends of the country, California and Maryland. But if Chipotle’s success is any indication, ShopHouse’s expansion across the country could be inevitable. Or at least we hope it is.
