Thanks to Go Dairy Free viewer Liz for emailing this incredible dairy-free restuarant recommendation:
Thai-Fresh has 14 rotating flavors of homemade coconut milk based ice creams. They also offer a food menu, including some gluten-free baked goods. They have a grocery section and cooking classes.
And viewer Dusty emailed his two cents, too:
Thai Fresh is AMAZING! From what I have been told, there is no dairy on the menu! The pad thai is the best pad thai I have had. And I ate so much dairy-free ice cream, I made myself sick. It was too good to stop eating.
I also found this additional tidbit about Thai Fresh menu ingredients from their website:
We change our menu throughout the day making food from available ingredients that are in season. All of our meats are raised within Texas free of antibiotics and hormones. We use Buddy’s natural chicken and Dewberry Hill Farms’ chicken. Our pork are from Peach Creek Farm and our beef is all grassfed from Bastrop Cattle Company. We use as much seasonal and local vegetables as we can.
Thai Fresh is open daily for both lunch and dinner, serving up an extensive and authentic menu of Thai food delights. All do appear to be dairy-free, and the menu notes at a glance which items are also gluten-free. Beyond the meal menu, Thai Fresh serves wine and local Austin beers, and they have an in-house gluten-free and vegan bakery with delights like salty caramel vegan brownies, flourless chocolate cake, cookies, and muffins!
And finally, the Thai Fresh coffee bar has Maciatos, Mochas, Lattes, Cappuccinos and more made with your dairy-free choice of coconut milk, organic almond milk, or organic soymilk. They use Brazilian coffee beans that are roasted in Austin.
