We first learned about SunCafe Organic Cuisine when they asked us to review their SunPower Natural Raw Cookies many years ago. I don’t think the cookies made it to retail, but the restaurant has persisted and remains incredibly popular.
The menus at SunCafe Organic Cuisine are what I would describe as traditional comfort foods with healthy Southern California flair. Everything is completely dairy-free and plant-based, and most items can be made gluten-free, too. And of course, they focus on using local, organic, fresh, seasonal foods and prepare everything from scratch on the premises.
Lunch and dinner includes starters, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and a smattering of other entrees. Brunch is a nice selection of traditional favorites like omelets, French toast, and pancakes, but all without eggs and dairy.
If you’re not ready to fully commit, try out their happy hour. They have a weekday happy hour (at last check it was 4 to 6pm) with a handful of discounted options from their regular menu. And although the cookies may be gone, SunCafe Organic Cuisine does have a nice little dessert menu with raw cheesecakes and healthy shakes.
In addition to the dining experience, SunCafe offers regular vegan and raw cooking classes with rotating cuisine themes. They also cater and host events.
