Tompkins Square Bagels hand rolls, kettle boils and oven bakes their bagels right on the premises daily. The dairy-free selection is unsurpassed, and the staff quite helpful, as the owner is vegan.
Beyond the bagels themselves, Tompkins Square Bagels offers an abundance of dairy-free toppers, including nut butters (Almond, Cashew, Sunflower, Peanut), fruit butters Pumpkin, Apple, Fig, Peach) and, get this, tofu cream cheese spread in an assortment of flavors (Veggie, Sun-Dried Tomato, Spinach Lox, Garlic Herb, and more).
They have countless sandwiches (Breakfast, Lunch and Specialty) which are either dairy-free or can be ordered without dairy, and also bake up a whole selection of vegan cookies!
For gluten-free customers, Tompkins Square Bagels offers gluten-free bagels, muffins, pancakes and cookies, most of which are reportedly dairy-free and/or vegan (check on site). We’ve also been told that they offer soymilk for their coffee drinks.
