Vegan Baked Apples with Maple Spice Sauce

- Preheat your oven to 325ºF.
- Put the milk beverage, maple syrup, lemon juice, carob, vanilla, and cinnamon in a medium bowl, and whisk to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and add the whole cloves.
- Put the cored apples in the baking dish and stuff each with the raisins and nuts (if using).
- Sprinkle any remaining raisins or nuts around the bottom of the baking dish. Spoon some of the sauce over the apples.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60 to 75 minutes, depending on the size of your apples.
- Serve warm or cooled with the sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight conotainer in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
*For a fun and pretty presentation, you can slice the tops off the apples, fill the centers and return the tops for baking.
