| Organic So Delicious Mini “Ice Cream” Sandwiches (Vegan) |

So, with a box of Minis resting patiently in the freezer, and the thermometer outside already topping 100º, there was obviously no reason to keep this review waiting any longer. As I peeled back the wrapper, I was amazed by how spot on the image was. The look and feel (right down to the top layer of the chocolaty cookies wanting to stick to my fingers) were so comfortably familiar. In fact, if you look up ‘ice cream sandwich’ on Wikipedia, the picture shown could easily be mistaken for a So Delicious Sandwich.
![]() With my first bite I confirmed that the taste and texture easily kept pace with this dessert’s accurate image. The cookie enclosures were soft, cake-y wafers that tasted more sweet than chocolate. My taste buds were overjoyed by the return of this very memorable flavor from days long past. Trapped in the center was a thick cool layer of Turtle Mountain’s traditional vanilla “ice cream,” I am assuming from the Organic So Delicious quarts. While I could detect the slight soy “ice cream” nature, it was invisible to a second taste-tester. Overall, it was a delightfully refreshing treat that didn’t cross the line to sickeningly sweet.
I would imagine these So Delicious Minis to be an easily likeable treat for any ice cream sandwich traditionalist. Plus, they are wonderfully sized for little ones (who can’t quite fit their hands around those adult-sized cones) and anyone who is trying to watch their calories. Really, this is one of those ‘what’s not to like?’ treats. Though we still haven’t trialed the regularly sized So Delicious sandwiches, the two appear identical in all aspects except for quantity. Personally, I am a bit of a glutton with dessert…so I may upgrade to the full-size! My Extra Notes & Tips:
Where to Purchase: Turtle Mountain’s frozen desserts are widely distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. In fact, there isn’t a grocer in my area that doesn’t carry at least a few flavors. These new Purely Decadent pints are just now hitting stores in the U.S. and may make their way up north in the near future. See the Turtle Mountain website for a store locator.
