Amy's Organic Cakes The GoodAK Organic cakes are fluffy, rich, and super easy to prepare. The Bad Each slice is 16g of Sugar.  But hey, it's cake! Amy's Kitchen has released some exciting new dessert items, a frozen orange (right) and chocolate (left) cake.  One thing that impressed me right off the bat about these cakes is the word "VEGAN" right above "Non-Dairy".  I don't know if this is new as I've never seen this before, but I like it when a company is proud to mark their products clearly as vegan.  Of course, Amy's Kitchen has always put the word "Vegan" in parenthesis in the ingredients list on their vegan items, but it shows appreciation that we vegans don't have to flip the box around and can instead shop right from the front...

If you've been a VegPage/AbolitionistVegans reader for some time, you'd know that we're necessarily critical of charities.  While our interests are marginalized, we're tempted to show our support for any organization founded on the idea of compassion toward animals. The Herald.ie reports reports that a tip-off to a facility in Dublin where "Inside the premises, gardai [the officer] found large quantities of ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis resin, an air pistol and almost 40 neglected animals." "Join The Impact" Nationwide Protest

Nationwide on Saturday, Americans protested publicly against the passing of Proposition 8, a measure that bans marriage for homosexuals in California.  Similar propositions have passed in other states already.The nationwide (and in 10 countries) protest was announced by JoinTheImpact.  Currently, Massechusetts and Conneticut are the only two U.S. states supporting gay marriage.
