Milk Allergy at School: Feature Now Online

Back in April, I told you about an amazing cover story that I had the opportunity to work on for the Allergic Living Magazine Spring Issue. And in honor of the back to school season, it is now online! You can read the whole article here: Milk Allergy at School

In this feature, we exposed the challenges, from societal to government mandates, and offered time-tested solutions and options that many parents are using to keep their milk allergic kids safe and included.

For future issues, Allergic Living magazine is still available as a subscription and for order online, and it is now being sold in stores! Look for the fall issue in 2 weeks at your local Whole Foods in the U.S. and at Chapters in Canada (see Where to Buy for newsstands):

Should you be interested, Allergic Living also sells back issues. Beyond that cover story and a plethora of other newsworthy topics, food bites, recipes, and more, there is a sneak peak of my upcoming cookbook inside! Yes, you can get a taste of what is to come in my next “everyday” recipe cookbook via this flavorful Roasted Carrot Bisque – this recipe is currently available only in this Allergic Living issue!

Roasted Carrot Bisque (from Alisa Flemings new Cookbook)Want to see some of the other recipes that I’ve created for Allergic Living magazine? There have been dozens, but the following recipes are samples from prior issues and now available online (all are dairy-free and Top allergen-free!):

Enjoy, and don’t forget to check out the latest Allergic Living issue by either ordering or picking up a copy at Whole Foods!

I’m sharing this post on Allergy-Free Wednesdays at Adrienne’s great blog, Whole New Mom.

My diet is Dairy/Soy- free and I only consume Almond & Coconut Milk and wanted to hear your thoughts on the ingredient Carrageenan that is in most of the store bought brands ? I’m really concerned and I am banning these store bought brands and opting to making my own almond milk. Your thoughts?

Hi Pati, It isn’t a topic that I’ve researched significantly enough to weigh in on. If you have concern though, by all means, make your own! It really is quite easy.

In this Months Allergic Living, there is a review of a new book on one families journey with a dairy allergy and asthma and Chinese medicine.,The reviews here and on Amazon are fantastic! Ok full disclosure—I wrote the book! But please do check it out! It is called “Crystal Child” and you can get it on amazon or kindle. Anyone who would like to post a review, I am glad to send you a press copy and press releases! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks!

Hi Lisa, I’m a bit confused – it was in Allergic Living already?
