Posted on by Alisa Fleming in News, Nutrition Headlines with 4 Comments

Each month I like to share some of the new dairy-free products that we discover. And believe me, it’s hard to limit this article – the dairy-free market is growing rapidly! If you are under the misconception that there is nothing left to eat on a dairy-free diet, then It’s time to think again, and savor this monthly post.

Please keep in mind that these are product finds, but not full blown recommendations. We have not sampled all of these products ourselves. For our opinions, see the Dairy-Free Product Reviews.

Ezekiel 4:9 Flax Sprouted Whole Grain Bread

This flourless bread is made with freshly-sprouted, certified organic live grains and sprouted flax seeds. It’s a new spin on Food for Life’s classic loaf, providing an excellent source of Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids (EFAs). It’s also free of conditioners, additives, artificial flavors, colors and preservatives, and is low-glycemic, vegan, and kosher-certified. For more info: www.foodforlife.com

I will be reviewing this great new product soon. Both the Mexican and Mozzarella flavors are free of the top eight allergens – yes, they are dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free! And I can give you a sneak preview of my thoughts: yes, it does melt, and quite easily! Plus, they are non-GMO. For more info: www.goveggiefoods.com

Lundberg Rice Cakes – New Sweet Chili and Hemp-a-Licious

I’m a long time fan of Lundberg Rice Cakes, so I was excited to see some new flavors pop up. Both new flavors are certified organic and kosher, and are naturally whole grain, gluten-free, and vegan. The Hemp-a-Licious offers the added benefits of hemp seeds, and the Sweet Chili rice cake is a blend of spicy and sweet. Alas, the new Kettle Corn variety contains milk. Another one that I’ll be reviewing soon, these new cooking and baking spreads are dairy-free buttery options spiked with flavor. Available in Sweet Cinnamon and Roasted Garlic & Herbs, both vegan “butters” are gluten-free, non-GMO, and made with expeller pressed oil. Unlike their coconut spread, these do contain soy – but it is organic GMO-Free soy. For more info: www.earthbalancenatural.com

My son was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease and now I think I have a life threatening dairy allergy. Would like any info I can have on dairy free products.

    Thanks much

I SO wish manufacturers who take the effort to make dairy free products would pay attention and strive to also make them free of the top allergens. I cannot have dairy, soy, gluten or grapes, and I am so tired of getting excited about a new product only to find out it has soy in it – -or some other allergen. I was thrilled and excited about the Earth Balance new additions until I read they contained soy. At that point I lost interest in the entire article. ;-(

Hi J’Marinde, That would be so nice! A few of the products above (like the chocolate and cheese!) are made without your allergens.
