SCHILLER PARK, IL, October 26, 2009 – Eight in every 100 trick-or-treaters ringing doorbells this Halloween are unable to enjoy many of the treats they receive due to food allergies and intolerances. Enjoy Life Foods®, an allergy-friendly and gluten-free product company, is doing its part to make this Halloween all treats and no tricks.
Enjoy Life Foods® has arranged to donate over 5,000 individual chocolate bars and cookie packs to seven communities in the Chicagoland area where they will be given to children attending locally-sponsored Halloween parties later this month. The Enjoy Life boom CHOCO boomTM chocolate bars and Enjoy Life cookie packs are gluten-free and free of the eight common allergies (NO: wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish and shellfish). Partygoers will satisfy their sweet tooths safely with Enjoy Life’s boom CHOCO boomTM dairy-free rice milk chocolate bars, Snickerdoodle cookie packs and Chewy Chocolate Chip cookie packs. For many of those dressed as princesses, witches, pirates and goblins, this is their first taste of sweet treats due to their prohibitive food allergies.
“Imagine growing up as a child and never tasting chocolate or enjoying a delicious baked good,” Scott Mandell, President and CEO of Enjoy Life Foods®,” pondered. “Our unique chocolate bars and cookie packs are safe for most children who have never had the pleasure to enjoy these products because of food allergies and intolerances. Knowing that we help provide a Happier Halloween to thousands of children is what makes us love what we stand for as a company, enjoying life!” Mandell continued.
Enjoy Life boom CHOCO boom bars and cookie packs can be found at Whole Foods and independent Natural Product stores as well as many local supermarkets including Jewel Food Stores.
