Alisa Fleming ~ Everyone’s idea of detoxing is different. Some people focus on a “pure” food diet with no processed or “modern” foods, others stick to vegan plates filled with veggies and whole grains, and a select few take the hard-hitting liquid approach with a juice and smoothie fast. The following three eBooks / Cookbooks cover this range, and offer some nutritious new ideas with enticing recipes and photos.
Resolution Recipes – Recently featured on Good Day Sacramento, Lori Thomas is a true vision of good health. I’ve met and spent time with her in person, and she is the real deal … energetic and fit, yet an everyday person who has dealt with her own weight issues in the past. Lori has found optimum health through an “almost paleo” diet. She focuses on whole foods that are low glycemic, and her new ebook is a compilation of several of her favorite recipes.
Resolution Recipes is 95% paleo, gluten-free, and dairy-free (there are two recipes that call for a small amount of goat cheese, which you can omit if desired, and a couple recipes that use Greek yogurt, but you can use dairy-free yogurt instead). This is a “clean eating” collection with roughly 20 recipes, including smoothies, salads, meaty main dishes, and nutritious sweet treats. Please note that Lori does use eggs in many of her recipes.

Good Morning: Breakfasts without Gluten, Sugar, Eggs or Dairy – This eBook was created by one of my all-time favorite, super-healthy bloggers, Ricki of Diet Dessert & Dogs. All of her recipes are vegan and focus on the ACD (anti-candida diet). In other words, she keeps the sugars low, perfect for those who want more low-glycemic, veggie-full options. Ricki actually has several ecookbooks with this focus, including Desserts without Compromise and Anti-Candida Feast, but her most recent one focuses on starting your day off right.
I simply love the variety in this ecookbook, which includes cereals, bars, pancakes, waffles, muffins, breakfast casseroles, scrambles, hashes, homemade breakfast “sausage,” sweet toppings, spreads, and nut butters. From sweet to savory, Ricki has you covered with numerous vegan and sugar-free options.

Eat Fresh and D-tox Your Life E-book – This is a well written and beautifully illustrated e-book that was created by two friends and caring moms, Alexa of Lexie's Kitchen and Nicola of G-Free Mom. I double-checked, and the entire e-book is dairy-free (a couple recipes give you a dairy-free option and a dairy option, but all others are dairy-free and vegan as is – everything within is also gluten-free), and the tips are universally helpful for getting both kids and adults to up their healthy food quota in a delicious liquid form. I've already tried two of the recipes (see below), and they are both wonderful.
Within this eBook you will find … Tips like "How to Hide Greens" & "Smoothies and the Color Wheel," 9 Kid-Friendly and Beginner Smoothie Recipes, 19 "Now I'm Feeling Braver" Smoothie and Juice Recipes, Soup Recipes, Detox Tips, and Personal Stories.
Not only will this book provide you with inspiration to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, but it also benefits others. All proceeds from this e-book go directly to MitoAction, a Boston-based nonprofit helping children and adults with mitochondrial disease.
