Vegan Bake SaleOn June 20 through June 28 (two weekends and the weekdays in between), groups from across the world will hold vegan bake sales as a part of the 1st annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale. This tremendous collaborative effort is being sponsored by Compassion for Animals (CfA), a Washington, DC-area grassroots group that “works to reduce human-caused harm to animals, primarily through educating people on animal-friendly lifestyles and cultivating empathy and respect for the nonhumans with whom we share the earth.” Anyone interested in hosting a vegan bake sale is welcome too. CfA has emphasized that you don't have to be a vegan group or even an animal group to participate. They are inviting school clubs, Girl Scout troops, church/temple/mosque organizations, and even bunches of friends to join …

Each participating group gets to choose its venue, what to sell (as long as it is vegan – dairy-free, egg-free, and all around animal-free), and how it uses the proceeds. The bake sale can be held on any day during the dates mentioned above. The Vegan Bake Sale website even offers tips and resources to help you hold a successful bake sale.

If you don’t have the resources to put on your own bake sale, then visit one in your area in June and support the cause by eating dessert! This is a list of places where vegan bake sales have already been planned, though the list is growing …
