The “healthy” chip market has exploded in recent years, but one manufacturer has broken away from the pack by producing corn-free tortilla chips in amazing dairy-free flavors. Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips are made simply with black and navy beans, rice, oil, and natural seasonings.
The result is a chip that actually packs in some fiber (4 grams per serving) and protein (also 4 grams per serving). Heck, these chips even offer a dose of calcium (4% of the RDA, or 40mg per serving) – 4 seems to be the lucky number for this company, don’t you think?

As for the flavors, we liked every. single. one. I’m not just being nice either, they are seriously scrumptious – even our picky young testers agreed. Here are our brief tasting notes on each of the Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips varieties:
Unsalted – Good, thick, crunchy, and not overtly “beany” in any way. A great base chip for dipping or if you are shunning sodium.
Sea Salt – Since we like our salt, these would be out baseline chip. Just the right amount of sodium added to address ravings.
Salt & Pepper – Holy black pepper Batman! I’ve never tasted anything with so much pure black pepper that it actually has a natural warming heat. The spice is tempered with just the right amount of contrasting saltiness.
Pico de Gallo – I would describe this chip as full of flavor, but with a mild salsa-like kick. Tony devoured these SO fast that I really only got to try a few.
Nacho – Yes, you heard me correctly, Nacho. Beanfield’s has a dairy-free cheesy chip that won a coveted VegNews Best of Show Award when first released. I admit that they are pretty addictive. The flavor is unique, bold, and not the least bit artificial.
Ranch – Is it like traditional ranch seasoning? Yes, I believe they do have a ranch-flavored vibe. Regardless if how close they are to the original, these gems are flavor-packed and we all loved them.
Barbecue – Each of these unique, crunchy chips has a lightly sweet but savory barbecue flavor with a nice smoky vibe. The generous seasoning (just look at that picture below!) is beyond addictive.
