The “healthy” chip market has exploded in recent years, but one manufacturer has broken away from the pack by producing corn-free tortilla chips in amazing dairy-free flavors. Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips are made simply with black and navy beans, rice, oil, and natural seasonings.
Consequently, Beanfield’s Chips pack in around 4 grams each of fiber, protein and fats per serving and 4% of the RDA for calcium. I think four is the lucky number for this little company!

- They are farmed and made in the USA, and are non-GMO Project Verified.
- They are gluten-Free, free of the Top 8 Allergens (including dairy), and as mentioned, they are even free of other relatively common allergens, like corn.

- They are available in multi-serve and single-serve packs, which are great for lunch boxes.
As for the flavors, we liked every single one. I’m not just being nice either, they are seriously scrumptious. Even our picky young testers agreed. Below I’ve included our tasting notes for each of the Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips varieties.
The Flavors of Beanfield’s Bean and Rice Chips
Unsalted – These are good, thick, crunchy, and not overtly “beany” in any way. They’re a great all-around chip for those who shun sodium.
Sea Salt – Since we like salt, these would be our baseline chip. Each bite had just the right amount of seasoning to address cravings.
Salt & Pepper – This flavor has so much pure black pepper that it actually provides a natural warming heat. Nonetheless, the spice is tempered with just the right amount of sea salt.
Pico de Gallo – I would describe this chip as full of flavor, but with a mild salsa-like kick. Tony devoured these SO fast that I really only got to try a few.
Nacho – This cheesy dairy-free chip won a coveted VegNews Best of Show Award upon release. I concur that they are addictive, unique, bold, and not the least bit artificial.
Ranch – These do have a ranch-flavored vibe. But regardless of how close they are to the original, these gems are flavor-packed and we all loved them.
Barbecue – Each bite has a lightly sweet but savory barbecue flavor with a wonderful smoky vibe that’s beyond addictive.
White Bean with Sea Salt – This could be my favorite new all-purpose chip. They’ve got a pleasant flavor that stands on its own, yet is neutral enough to pair with dips or use in recipes.
Black Bean with Sea Salt – Matching their deeper hue, these have a slight earthy flavor that reminds me a bit of flax seed. Still good, but more of a dip-delivery chip for me!
Jalapeno Nacho – Woowee! For those of you who were disappointed in the mild mannered Pico de Gallo, this flavor has a hot temper! They aren’t dangerously spicy, but do pack quite a punch.
