Updated in 2016! Since I’m not a fan of the bean, I simply sipped the flavors we had of Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee, for reference, and left the opinions up to my java-loving family and friends.
The Double Espresso Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee wasn’t really that sweet, but everyone agreed that it had a wonderful full-bodied flavor that was deep and rich. This was voted as the best wake-up call on a weary day.
The Café Latte (shown below left) was a touch sweeter than the Double Espresso, and was by far the creamiest. It was the only variety (from those that we sampled) where the almond milk was more assertive in the flavor, and left a lingering creamy mouth feel.
Since our tasting team leaned toward dessert-addicts, the Mocha (shown below right) flavor was the most loved of the Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee selections that we sampled. It was definitely the sweetest, and had a rich chocolate milk taste to it (enough so to win over many of us who are coffee-averse). That said, it wasn’t as creamy as expected.
Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee beverages also win our award for being the first ready-to-drink, soy-free, dairy-free iced coffees. Plus they are made with organic fair trade coffee, boast the Non-GMO Verified label, and are packaged in a retro 48-ounce, BPA-Free PET bottle. To top it off (yes, there is more!), they are low fat, lower in sugar than your average iced coffees, and are fortified with calcium, vitamin D, and other goodies.
AND, Califia Farms Cold Brew Coffee beverages have now become so popular that they are available in single serves with many new flavors. At last check, the dairy-free, single-serve flavors included Mocha Mexica, Salted Caramel, Cocoa Noir, Black & White, Dirty Chai, Triple Shot, XX Espresso, and Full Shot.
