Hotel Chocolat Dark Chocolate Treats

Thank you to Rebecca Hillman of the Irish Craftworker blog for sharing this great product review!

Some mornings don't begin well, and usually set the scene for the rest of the day. Then other mornings things start off on a high note and those are the best days… this was one of those wonderful days! Lets set the scene … getting the children up and all set for school and playschool has gone without a hitch, no major tantrums, the sun is shining, husband is doing the school run, pigs, goats, dogs, and cats fed and happy. I flick on my computer and read an email … 'would you be interested in reviewing a chocolate easter egg on your blog?'  Hmmm, ponder the reply for approximately 0.0009 of a second … YES. Not much to consider really, free, delicious chocolate delivered to our home, for us to eat and decide whether or not we like it! Willing guinea pigs await arrival of package, salivating in anticipation.

Parcel arrives and children squeal with delight when I explain that we don't have to wait for Easter to eat this Easter egg. Packaging is ripped open …

Oh god it was delicious. A good sign of that is how the normal humdrum from a family of four became oddly silent for a significant length of time as we ate till our tummies were full of dark chocolate! 70% cocoa thick egg, filled with chocolates, beautifully packaged (not that we cared about packaging once we'd tasted the contents!) … a hit. Its particularly welcomed in our home as this egg is actually dairy free, and with 3 members of the house dairy intolerant we have found it very difficult to find a dairy free option easter egg in the past.

Ah, job well done, egg reviewed, tummies full, cancel dinner. Bring on more work involving the review of chocolate products!

Where to Purchase:  This U.K. based chocolatier has many stores located throughout the country.  However, for those of us living nowhere near one of these chocolaty outlets, Hotel Chocolat does ship worldwide (yeah!).  Head to their website to order online.  A special vegan category lists all of their dairy-free chocolate selections.
