Imagine fine dark chocolate wafers tempered to melt with ease into a rich mug of true hot chocolate. Enter Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate.
As the temperatures turn downward, and the holiday season kicks in, I thought it would be fun to feature some luxurious dairy-free foods that offer warmth and double as great gifts. Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate fits that bill. Each generously sized canister contains 64% dark chocolate wafers and a special mini-molinillo (to properly whisk the chocolate) for a nice authentic touch. They also offer a gift set with the mug pictured below.
Once melted and whipped into hot water, Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate has a rich, smooth, semi-sweet flavor that would be appealing to most chocoholic taste buds. It can be enjoyed chilled, too, but this time of year, piping hot chocolate is my pleasure. I also liked adding a couple tablespoons of pure light coconut milk (it did separate just a touch – note that the tiny white specs in my mug are from the coconut milk, not the chocolate!) for more of a full-bodied beverage.
