It’s hard to believe that after all these years, I’d never reviewed Divvies Bakery Cookies. Their flagship goodies now come in several classic, beloved flavors. Including Chocolate Chip, Molasses Ginger, Sugar, Oatmeal Raisin …
… and the ones I sampled first, Chocolate Brownie. This chocoholic dream joined the Divvies line-up several years ago as a contest-winning cookie, originally named the Choco-lot Brownie Cookie (it’s still called this on their website, but not on the packages).
Living up to its name, each bite was perfectly soft, chewy and fudgy with a kid-friendly flavor that was more semi-sweet cocoa than decadent dark. I honestly couldn’t believe how bakery fresh these packaged goodies tasted.
And just when I didn’t think it could get any better, I sampled the Molasses Ginger Divvies Bakery Cookies. Full disclaimer: I actually like molasses ginger cookies better than chocolate ones. But even so, these were AMAZING! They had an unreal soft, tender and chewy texture that was almost doughy. The light molasses and ginger flavors are ever-present, but not deep, dark or overpowering – read: still kid-friendly and probably even okay for the mildly ginger averse. Each bite was perfectly sweet and dotted with those wonderful, crunchy little sugar crystals. Who say molasses cookies are only for the holidays?
Like all of their treats, Divvies Bakery Cookies are “made to share” so they come with two good-sized cookies per package. Of course, you don’t have to share, but the option is there if your willpower doesn’t give out.
To note, Divvies is a family run business with food allergies in mind. They keep their facility dairy-free, egg-free and nut-free bakery, and even produce their own chocolate for these cookies!
