Unfortunately, Elianni Organic Veggie Rolls are no longer available, and the company seems to have gone dormant. For some healthy, homemade meat alternatives, try these recipes for Vegan Barbacoa, Grin Meat Grind, and Plant-Based Chorizo.
I’m not really a connoisseur of vegan alternatives, but these products were just too intriguing to pass up. The Veggie Rolls from Elianni are vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free. They’re also certified organic and made simply with all natural ingredients. What intrigued me the most was that these Elianni Organic Veggie Rolls are made from peanuts!
Tasting Notes for Elianni Organic Veggie Rolls
To my amazement, I truly enjoyed them!
The Elianni Veggie Rolls don’t taste pea-nutty at all, but rather have a pleasant savory flavor that is rather addicting. The texture is unique. Almost like a cross between noshing on cold cheddar cheese and a piece of bread or soft crackers. I know, very odd, but I can’t think of how else to describe it. They are tender, and quite suitable for topping crackers. Or simply slice and chomp them as a snack, like we did.
My hands down favorite was the Tomato Veggie Roll. Rich with bold flavorful and a hint of smokiness, I found it difficult to stop grabbing slices of this unique snack, which was surprisingly filling.
Runner-up was the Fine Herbs Veggie Roll, which had a more delicate flavor. Taste wise, it was actually on par with the mellow Mediterranean Veggie Roll, but the divine scent of fresh herbs bumped up the pleasure experience. The Mushroom Veggie Roll was still quite good, but the mushrooms made the texture a bit denser.
I’m still not 100% sure on how to serve Elianni’s Veggie Rolls, but for now, we are enjoying them as snacks and I even crumbled some into a big lunch salad. You might find them to be the perfect vegetarian and vegan addition to the “cheese” platter at your next holiday party. I can also see it being a tasty sandwich filling.
