My concern: Hmm, frozen sausages … how good could they actually be?
My discovery: REALLY good.
Though they are all natural (no funny additives), I expected little from these pre-cooked sausages. After all, they are frozen, and really, as much as I love to be healthy, chicken sausage has never been a favorite in this household. But … I was more than pleasantly surprised with Applegate Farm's Breakfast Sausage.
I took them straight from frozen to cooked / heated through with 8 minutes in a skillet over medium heat. Oddly enough, I didn’t need to add any oil to the pan, yet there were no greasy oil left behind either.

As for the taste, these chicken sausages were amazingly juicy and tender, and full of flavor. Not too salty, not too spicy, but rich with just the right amount of bold flavors.
My husband who typically won’t go near ground chicken in any form, and only tolerates sage at very low levels, said “I am really surprised, these are good!”
They were even excellent when reheated on day two with some sauteed vegetables.

Seriously, I could be in trouble with this new addiction. Luckily they are relatively lean (just 8 grams of fat in three filling sausages), but still not an everyday indulgence. Hello Sunday brunch!
