Naturally More Peanut Butter (Soy-Free)

Though I am never one to be attracted to a “low carb” item (I love my carbs), I was running out of peanut butter and the sale tag attracted my eye.  In the end, it was the ingredient list that intrigued me enough to toss it in the cart.   Of course roasted peanuts were listed first, but Naturally More has pumped-up this PB with wheat germ, flax seeds, cane sugar, egg whites, honey, and flaxseed oil.

I must admit this is a very full-bodied peanut butter with a pleasant touch of sweetness.   Though peanut butter in nature, it is much mellower than your traditional jar of ground nuts.  The overall texture is very creamy with a few crunchy flaxseeds throughout.

My old standby snack has been rice cakes topped with peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon.  Naturally More was a nice change, as no honey was required, it was just sweet enough.  Yet their peanut butter only has 2 grams of sugar, quite a bit less than the teaspoon or two of honey I was adding.

My recent requirement for wheat free products means I may not be re-purchasing this peanut butter for a while, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for anyone who might like a little extra oomph from their PB.

  • Pros:  All natural; Though lightly sweetened, it is very low in sugar (2g per serving); High in protein (10g per serving); High in fiber (4g per serving); Good source of Omega 3’s; Pleasant flavor and texture
  • Cons:  It is one of the only PB’s on the market that contains wheat/gluten and is not suitable for vegans or egg allergies

Recommended for:

  • PB&J’s
  • Rice Cakes and Honey
  • A Protein Boost

Where to Buy:

  • Online – You can purchase a case directly from the Naturally More website
  • In Store – Unfortunately, there is no store locator on the Naturally More website.  I purchased it at a large natural food grocer.
