Danone did discontinue So Delicious Cashew Milk. Under the So Delicious name, they only have Coconut Milk Beverage available. However, they do still make Silk Cashew Milk.
Homemade cashew milk has been a staple in my household for years because, let’s face it, cashews are awesome. They’re gently sweet, creamy, and just perfect. Apparently I’m not alone in my opinion, 31 percent of Americans have proclaimed it their favorite nut. Yet for some reason this amazing nut had been relatively ignored by the dairy-free industry. Fortunately, So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk Beverage emerged to lead the market in what I think will be a big cashew alternative trend.
So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk is an Unsweetened Staple
So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk is available in Unsweetened and Unsweetened Vanilla. Both have a clean, rich taste. As for consistency, I’d compare it to 2% milk. The flavor is quite neutral with no bitter or chalky aftertaste. The Vanilla cashew milk has an amazing scent! Beyond the delicious fragrance, the vanilla adds just a very gentle hint of flavor and sweetness.
I’ve never been a “glass of milk” drinker, so this delight is a little too rich for me to sip straight, but it’s amazing in smoothies, breakfast cereal and granola, savory recipes (think creamy sauces or bread), sweet recipes (rice pudding, ice milk, or those yummy cupcakes pictured below), or most other milky needs. Cashew milk is a great, versatile, multi-purpose alternative that is definitely worth considering, especially if you are a coconut milk beverage or almond milk fan.

is this casein free too?
Hi Rosy, this is a dairy-free website – everything is casein-free, lactose-free, whey-free, etc that we write about. Casein is a top allergenic protein in milk / dairy.
DO they make one that is not unsweetened? These unsweetened varieties of ALL alternatives all taste like cardboard to me. I need that balance that a bit of sweetener provides.
Hi J’Marinde – as noted in the post, they are both unsweetened.
I have been looking for a dairy free milk to add to my tea and coffee. I am going to be on the look out and give this a try – I have a feeling I will like it more than my other alternatives. Thanks for letting us know about it!
Can’t wait to try this – I usually make my own cashew milk, but it’s always good to have a back-up!
Yum – I’ll be on the lookout! I am surprised that the dairy free industry hasn’t been doing much with cashews since they seem to be a staple for the dairy-free home cook (hello cashew cream!)
I love reading your new product reviews, Alisa! I’m with Ricki on the cupcakes…they look amazing!
No carrageen! Way to go So Delicious. Thank you for listening to your customers. Excited to try!
But now I have to go look up on gellan gum.
Yep…
Wow, that really DOES look so rich and creamy!! I love all the new alternative milks that are coming out. . . and since I adore cashews, I bet I’d love this, too. Those cupcakes also look divine!
