Hearty Granola (Egg-Free, Soy-Free)



  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup wheat flakes (may use more rolled oats if you can't find wheat flakes)
  • ½ cup wheat germ or ground flax seed
  • ½ cup sliced or chopped almonds
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried apple or prune
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 300

Combine all ingredients before honey. In a smaller bowl combine honey, water, and vanilla. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well. Spread in a 13×9 in baking dish. Bake for 40-50 min or until golden brown, stirring occasionally
