Orange Tea Biscuits (Vegan)


These orange tea biscuits come together so simply and are the perfect addition to your afternoon tea! The slight orange juice glaze on top gives them an extra zing of zesty orange flavor. These tea biscuits are just subtly sweet and pair well with some sweet orange marmalade.

Orange Tea Biscuits (Vegan)
  • 2 cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon Shortening
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ¾ cup Oat Milk (or other dairy-free milk)
  • Orange juice
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening. Add grated orange rind. Add milk to dry ingredients. Mix completely.
  2. Turn dough onto floured board. Pat to ½ inch thickness. Cut with small cutter. Put into greased baking pan. Before putting into oven, dip bottom of beverage glass into orange juice; press down intotop of each biscuit.
  3. Bake and serve at once.
  4. Makes 2½-3 dozen.
