Demand & Supply of Dairy-Free Cheese Rising

TofuttiDemand for non-dairy alternatives is still on the rise, as evidenced by Tofutti’s continued growth in sales.  Though I am not a huge Tofutti shopper, they did have the only dairy-free cream cheese and sour cream on the market.  These two ingredients certainly do come in handy.  I have actually become a fan of their cream cheese, which is amazingly similar to dairy-based cream cheese.  However, I was browsing Whole Foods the other day, and what should I see, but another vegan brand of both cream cheese and sour cream!

It seems that supply is meeting with demand, as Galaxy Foods has expanded their vegan product line to include these new offerings.  I may be a bit behind on the release, since I seldom shop Whole Foods, but I was excited to see this nonetheless.  I still have some Tofutti to use up, but my next cream cheese needs could warrant a trial of the brand with purple “Vegan” label.

As aside note, but still on the cheese topic, I am currently trialing the hot new import, Sheese.  So far, so good.  The cheddar and chives already has two thumbs up!  The flavors we are trialing should be up in the product reviews in a week or two!
