PA, Easton – Bank Street Creamery: Slow Churns Vegan Gelato


In addition to their traditional handcrafted ice cream, Bank Street Creamery churns a wide range of vegan gelato flavors. On any given day, you’ll find several of these dairy-free flavors to choose from. They could include Cookies N’ Cream, Java Nice Day, Pistachio, Peach Melba, Strawberry Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Fudge, White Mint Chocolate Chip, Mango, Mocha Almond, Strawberry,  Toasted Coconut, or others.

Gelato is typically made with a higher ratio of milk to cream, but is churned at a slower speed for a thicker, creamier consistency. Their vegan gelato is made with a 5.5 percent fat coconut cream base instead.

We’ve heard that the vegan flavors are more akin to sherbet in consistency than dairy ice cream, but they’re rich and delicious nonetheless. And they reportedly don’t taste like coconut! But ask if you should order it in a cup or cone. We’ve heard that their cones aren’t vegan, but they post tons of pictures of their vegan gelato on cones!

Bank Street Creamery also makes sundaes, with a good selection of dairy-free topping options. Inquire in store to find out what sprinkles and sauces work for your needs. And they can make you a dairy-free milkshake! They have organic almond milk in store for blending.

They are open from Wednesday through Sunday, from noon into the late evening. However, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday.
