CA, Danville – Acai-Me Superfoods Cafe

Thanks to Diana for emailing this recommendation:

Being dairy free and gluten free in the San Francisco Bay Area I have been able to find some excellent restaurant recommendations. Acai-Me Superfoods Café opened in Danville, CA in December 2013. They have no dairy in anything they make and are also extremely allergen friendly. The have gluten free granola available and if you have any other allergies like I do to kiwi fruit they will wash down all cutting boards before making your bowl! It is great and it is run by a great group of people!

In terms of dairy, Acai-Me does offer cheddar on a sandwich and doesn’t specify it as a dairy-free cheese, so I would check on that. Otherwise, the menu at Acai-Me looks wonderfully dairy-free (with many vegan and gluten-free options), including acai bowls and smoothies made with almond milk, coconut milk, peanut butter, flaxseed, kale, and/or fruit (from gojis to bananas!).

Acai-Me also offers toast and a couple sandwich options using Dave’s Killer Bread (vegan).

  1. Thanks for for spreading the word about our little family-owned açaí café in Danville, CA! As pointed out, we aren’t 100% dairy free because we do serve a turkey sandwich with cheddar (using the delicious Dave’s Killer Bread). Other than that one item, we are dairy free. Our extensive menu of açaí bowls & smoothies never have any dairy. and that’s what we specialize in. We hope to see you soon!
