NC, Winston-Salem – Camino Bakery

I learned about Camino Bakery from a post by Erin Brighton. She shared that they offer dairy-free coffee drinks and gluten-free goodies. Unfortunately, there broad selection of gluten-free baked goods appear to be made with butter, but they do frequently offer vegan cupcakes (peanut butter ones pictured below!) and vegan triple layer cakes. They may have some other “just dairy free” options at Camino Bakery (they seem pretty good about being clear with ingredients), so I would inquire.

Nonetheless, as Erin stated, they do have dairy-free milk beverage on tap, in fact, they have two. Both almond milk and soy milk are available for making steamers, hot chocolates, and more.

Camino Bakery in Winston-Salem, NC provides dairy-free soy and almond milk beverages for their coffee drinks and frequently offers vegan cupcakes.

  1. I lived in Winston-Salem for 3 years, and I lived in the apartment building above this coffee shop. Being vegan in the south is hard enough (and other than Whole Foods, there were not many places in Winston-Salem for vegan-friendly options). Camino does some vegan baked goods, and they are good about specifying ingredients and answering questions about ingredients. You have to be very specific when ordering your coffee–I would have to tell both the person at the register and the barista making my coffee that there were to be no dairy ingredients in my coffee.
