This Instagram-worthy shop is a pink dream with splashes of green matcha in nearly every menu item. It’s a bit of a splurge, and the service can be spotty, but Holy Matcha is a completely dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan spot. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the food and drinks, from raves to rants, but everyone agrees that it’s worth trying for the image alone.

According to the owner, their most popular menu items are the baked donuts, soft serve, and waffles. But I’m pretty sure most guests order a matcha beverage to wash it down. Since they don’t post their menu online, I’m going to share a few details here.

Naturally, the beverage list includes different types of traditional matcha, served warm or iced. They also have horchata and “Milk Matcha” lattes. Other seasonal latte flavors can include Strawberry, Thai Matcha, Pumpkin,  Holy (with natural herb supplements), and Caramel Matcha. And for those warm San Diego days, they offer lemonade in Strawberry, Matcha, or Rose.

The “Bites” menu includes avocado toast and almond butter toast, both served on rosemary bread, matcha chia bowls, and baked organic donuts in Matcha, Strawberry, or Belgian Chocolate. And those pretty vanilla waffles are served with an option for fruit and matcha syrup. Yes, the donuts and waffles really are gluten-free and vegan!

The dairy-free soft serve ice cream menu always includes Matcha as a flavor option, but they rotate the other flavor option, which can include charcoal, lavender, or some other trendy influence.
