Little Choc Apocethary is New York City’s first all vegan creperie. They even use gluten-free and egg-free crepe batter that’s free of any gums, binders, artificial flavors, and overly refined sugars. Their focus is to provide delicious and wholesome plant-based meals with both taste and sustainability in mind.
Walking into Little Choc Apocethary, you become surrounded by the aroma of fresh crepes and coffee. It’s an adorably decorated little restaurant, with multicolored painted wood tables, a full brick wall of tea jars, and dainty vintage dishware.
Little Choc Apocethary offers a selection of exciting creative savory and sweet crepes. The crepe batter is first made from a blend of sorghum, rice, arrowroot, and potato starch for a perfectly tender texture and slightly crisp edges. Each selection is then stuffed with a blend of delicious toppings and sauces.
One of their most loved savory crepes is the Pizza Crepe. It’s filled with house-made marinara sauce, cashew cheese, fresh basil, and hot pepper flakes. The Khail Seitan is also a popular one and for very good reason. It’s stuffed with house-made seitan, kale, caramelized onion, roasted red peppers, and house BBQ sauce.
The sweet crepes are more of a “build your own” experience. You get to choose from their wide range of toppings, including Newtella (their vegan version), caramel sauce, banana, strawberries, and Van Leeuwen ice cream. They also serve sweet gluten-free and vegan treats that change daily. These might include cookies, muffins, mud pie, cake, scones, or ice cream.
Little Choc Apocethary also serves juices, smoothies, acai bowls, and heaps of different tea blends. But regardless of what you order, this restaurant is just a lovely experience. It’s the perfect brunch spot for meeting with friends, or a cozy coffee shop for some down time. Either way, if you’re in NYC, it shouldn’t be missed!
