Moxies Grill & Bar is Hip to Dairy-Free and Vegan Requests

Updated in 2021! Years ago, a reader named Ann-Marie emailed to share her experience with the “upscale premium casual dining restaurant” chain known as Moxie’s Grill and Bar:

My daughter and I both have dairy allergies and like that this restaurant has a policy that if the server is told that there is an allergy. (not dietary preference), a manager goes through that ingredient list and double checks, every time.  The same manager usually delivers the meal too.  If we ask, they will give my daughter an alcohol free fruit margarita in their desert cups instead of ice cream.

From what we’ve heard, Moxie’s still has the same great service, and quite a few dairy-free and even vegan entrees to choose from.

Moxie’s allergen menu even helps a bit with custom order options, but they do warn that it is for those with “mild” allergies. In other words, like any restaurant environment, cross-contamination with allergens at Moxie’s is a risk. But these are the options made without milk ingredients.

  • Ahi Tuna Ceviche
  • Calamari (no garlic dip)
  • Cashew Chicken Lettuce Wraps
  • Chicken Wings (no ranch)
  • Dry Ribs
  • Fresh Smashed Guacamole
  • Tuna Poke
  • Vegan Tofu Lettuce Wraps

Soup & Salads

  • Market Kale Salad (no cheese)

Heads Up! The baguette they serve with the soup and their croutons contain dairy. The soups at Moxie’s rotate, so check in restaurant on availability and allergens.

  • Chipotle Mango Chicken (no butter)
  • Steak Frites (no cheese on fresh greens)
  • Tuna Poke Bowl
  • Vegetarian Power Bowl

Heads Up! It looks like Moxie’s does use butter on their grilled steaks.

  • Burger (lettuce wrap; no bun, no cheese)
  • Beyond Meat Burger (lettuce wrap; no bun, no cheese)
  • Blackened Chicken Burger (lettuce wrap; no bun, no cheese)
  • Blackened Shrimp Tacos (no jalapeno lime sauce)
  • Vegan Tacos
  • Chicken Tenders

Heads Up! Their classic brioche burger buns do contain milk. Some Moxie’s locations offer potato buns and gluten-free buns, which we’ve inquired on.

Kids’ Menu

  • Burger (lettuce wrap; no bun, no cheese)
  • Chicken Fingers

  • Fries (no dip)
  • Sweet Potato Fries (no dip)
  • Garlic Prawns (no butter)
