MD, Ellicott City – One Dish Cuisine

This is an interesting concept. One Dish Cuisine is an allergy-friendly dining spot with a special “Blue Menu” that is completely dairy-free (No casein, whey, lactose, or other versions of milk). According to the owner, Maureen Burke:

We are a full cafe, deli and bakery that is completely free of wheat, rye, barley, oats, soy, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish and sesame. We also have a dedicated kitchen that is completely free of milk and dairy. Our baked goods are all milk-free as well. We have two kitchens and two menus that can be found on our website.

According to their website, they have their products allergen tested by an independent lab. One Dish Cuisine has their Café location, but they also provide food service to local hospitals and will ship selected menu items frozen throughout the U.S.

The staff at One Dish Cuisine is well-trained and their goal is to provide a safe and delicious dining experience. Surprisingly, not all restaurants that tout their allergy-friendly prowess are helpful and forthcoming, but Maureen at One Dish Cuisine is well known for her attentiveness. She has openly shared that she has celiac disease and is also dairy-free, so avoiding cross-contamination is a top priority.

  1. One Dish Cuisine is a fabulous place! I will admit that I used to work there as the baker, but the food is delicious and can be customized according to whatever allergies the customer has. There aren’t many GF/allergy-free restaurants around Annapolis, MD but this place is worth the drive. I’m totally addicted to their pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches 🙂
