I have yet to meet a person who didn’t fall for the charms of Soule Domain. This atmospheric restaurant tucked away in a log cabin alongside the brash 1960’s style casinos in Crystal Bay is a must visit for anyone who ventures to North Lake Tahoe. Soule Domain offers that warm cozy feeling, complete with fireplace, that you expect to find when visiting a mountain town. It really is date night bliss, but also an excellent place to meet up with friends and family. Oh yes, and the food is excellent too.
The chef prepares a nightly soup from scratch (that comes with every meal), which is almost always creamy and vegan. The menu is mostly omnivorous, but the vegan saute is very worthwhile. The menu does have quite a few butter, cream, and cheese spiked dishes, but since the chef is familiar with vegan preparations, special requests would not be out of the question.
And the naturally dairy-free menu items they do have, are incredible! There are several Asian-inspired entrees and appetizers that are either dairy-free as is or easily adapted.
Where to Find Soule Domain
They are open seven days a week for dinner, but don’t expect any early bird specials or happy hours. They don’t welcome guests in until six pm.
