Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill

Thanks to Go Dairy Free viewer Matt for emailing this recommendation. Though not listed on their website (at last check) this popular midwestern chain has a full food allergy menu / chart that they will be happy to email to you upon request, and that should be available at their locations.

After taking a look at the menu, I’m happy to say that there are lots of great options that are listed as dairy-free (always check on kitchen procedures where severe milk allergies are a concern), and their Smoked BBQ menu appears to be free of all of the top allergens (just a few of the items contain soy). Be wary of the sandwiches and burgers though; all are listed as containing milk, so odds are, it is in the buns and/or on the grill. Also, they seem to use butter and/or cheese¬†on all of their steaks. Nonetheless, there are plenty of fish, chicken, and pork items on the menu that are milk-free, but vegans won’t fare very well at this restaurant with only french fries and cinnamon apples to nosh on.

See their website for locations and to request the food allergy menu.
