NY, Syracuse / Rochester – Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

Thanks to Go Dairy Free viewer Josey for sending in this recommendation:

"The Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, Buffalo, and NYC is amazing. They went in the back and went through all their recipes till they found a dessert I can eat. The food is great."

This appears to be a meat-eaters bbq paradise. They have barbecue sandwiches and entrees in every form. There is a barbecue portobello option for vegetarians and vegans too.

I also noted that all of the bbq sauces, marinades, and flavor sauces they sell themselves (online) and presumably use in restaurant are not only dairy-free, but they are also all natural and free of high fructose corn syrup. A rare commodity in the BBQ sauce world these days.

  1. The Dinosaur BBQ is a Syracuse treasure. As a med student this was our post-exam reward to ourselves. Now as a father of boy with several food allergies, including milk, the Dinosaur BBQ is our go-to caterer for his parties and celebrations. The people who cook and serve there are great at working with our family to provide delicious meals that everyone can eat. Drop off catering is convenient is wonderful but stop by the actual restaurant for some honky-tonk atmosphere and cool live blues music to go with their awesome ribs.
