OR, Portland – Homegrown Smoker

This is a family-run, vegan barbecue food cart near the Portland State University campus. According to Oregon Live, "The menu's star is a slow-smoked soy curl sandwich ($7), a riff on Carolina-style pulled pork, smothered with tangy barbecue sauce and topped with tangy slaw, with your choice of side."

They also offer daily specials, non-barbecue food such as "hefty" gluten-free nachos ($4) and a Mac No Cheese side dish ($3) that eats like a meal. Other interesting favorites include a  "Schmeaty Schmelt" made with faux meatloaf and Daiya vegan cheese alternative and the "Fillet o'Fu," a tofu "fried fish sandwich" with seaweed-spiked breading.
