PA, Pittsburgh – Mandy’s Pizza

Mandy’s has been around since 1979, but in January of 2010, they introduced gluten-free pizza as an option for customers, and in May of 2010, they took it one big step further, offering the only allergen-free pizza in the area. This new pizza (the whole thing) is free of dairy, gluten, eggs, nuts, soy, and rice. Of course, if you aren’t gluten-free, you can probably order their new dairy-free cheese on a “regular” pizza crust. They didn’t mention the “cheese” they were using in the press release I viewed, but based upon what they wrote, it sounds like they are probably using Daiya, which gets rave reviews for pizza.

The President of Mandy’s, Steven Negri, said, “Though the request for a cheese alternative has not been overwhelming, we had a goal and it was simply to allow everyone to enjoy pizza again.” So get on over there and prove to Steven that there is a BIG demand for dairy-free pizza so that Mandy’s keeps on serving it and in the hopes that other pizzerias follow suit!
