WA, Ferndale – The Steak House at Silver Reef

This “hideaway” is a 5 mile jaunt west off of the highway through what looks like, well nowhere, but it is easily worth the detour. Not only is the atmosphere intimate, attractive, social, and relaxing, but the service and food are top notch and easily allergy-friendly. We needed both dairy-free and gluten-free options and the entire staff was attentive to ensure (checking in with the chef, offering options, agreeable to adapting any of the menu items – even holding off on the butter basting or finishing) that our needs were met. If you miss the feel of an old-fashioned upscale steak house with highly professional staff, then you must visit this restaurant.

The serving sizes are HUGE, no joke, and the prices are fair. Really, this is a deal not to be missed, so long as you aren’t vegetarian. It is a steakhouse through and through with a chicken option, a seafood option, and a lamb option, but no mains for vegetarians. However, the vegetable side dishes are also enormous (mushrooms, asparagus, various types of potatoes) and flavorful, and could easily be pieced together for a filling low-protein meal.

There were many dishes (sides, entrees, appetizers) sampled by our group (they even sent out a complimentary appetizer), and absolutely everything got rave reviews.
