When I think of a “boutique brewery,” I picture well-manicured lumberjacks gingerly sipping elegant pints of beer while engaging in polite conversation. I’m pretty sure this isn’t a scene you will see at The Vegetable Hunter, but it certainly isn’t a typical brewery.

The Vegetable Hunter is a Boutique Brewery and Vegetarian / Vegan Cafe in Harrisburg Pennsylvania

They specialize in small batch brewing using fresh and unexpected ingredients (including fruits, herbs, and vegetables). The beer recipes are crafted to complement the seasonal food featured at their restaurant. They also pour handcrafted cocktails and kombucha.

The food is vegetarian, and mostly vegan, with a nice selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, bowls, and tacos. Some of their vegan dishes include Mac & Cheese, Tempeh Reuben Sandwiches, Walnut Lentil Burgers, Asian Noodle Bowl, and Korean Tofu Tacos. They do serve eggs and cheese at the restaurant, but most menu items can be made without them on request.

And dessert is not forgotten at The Vegetable Hunter. They are actually well known for their vegan donuts. The selection changes, but never ceases to impress. They also offer big vegan chocolate chip cookies.
