Umaluma recently opened in Vancouver with a very straight forward mission. “The magic started with the simple desire to create a super healthy, organic, non-dairy alternative to traditional Italian gelato — the yummy stuff that’s creamy, smooth and bursting with flavour.” And based on their reviews, I think they’ve succeeded!
Each rich, house-made flavor uses a base of organic coconut milk, roasted cashews, and hemp seeds. They use organic spices, extracts, sweeteners, and other pure ingredients to make their creative range of flavors. And every variety is plant-based. However, a few do use wild flower honey, so they aren’t all strictly vegan.
Just a few of the flavors offered at this high-end gelateria include the ones pictured below: Mojito Magik, Lavender Dream, Dark Chocolate Truffle, and Caramel Sea Foam.
