The Wooden Spoon Bakery & Cafe in Mount Forest, Ontario offers tons of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan goodies

It seems the Wooden Spoon is a common bakery and cafe name, but this is the one in the tiny town ofĀ Mount Forest, Ontario. It shouldn’t be mistaken for the one in Denver, which isn’t dairy-free friendly, or the one in Pennsylvania, which closed.

This Wooden Spoon Bakery opened its doors in 2016, and just recently changed hands. The founding bakers had to step away for personal reasons, so we hope that the new owners (who took over in July of 2018) will continue to offer loads of dairy-free deliciousness.

It is a “traditional” bakery, but they offer loads of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options. Most of their sandwiches can be made dairy-free, and they can reportedly even makeĀ gluten free, dairy free paninis. On the sweet side, you can usually find vegan donuts, cookies, pies, muffins, brownies, cinnamon buns, coconut macaroons, and breads. Sometimes they even have vegan cheesecake! Many items are also gluten-free, including their popular black bean brownies.

The bakers can also accommodate special orders for dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan items, including cakes. They bake all types of special occasion cookies and cakes, from birthdays to weddings.
