It doesn't get much easier than this simple pizza sauce. It can cook while you prepare the rest of your pizza, or while you par-bake the pizza dough, if needed.

Ingredients
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce (like Hunt's)
  • 1½ teaspoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the tomato sauce, sugar, oregano, basil, rosemary, fennel, salt, and garlic powder.
  2. Place the pan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat, and let cool for a few minutes before spreading on your pizza crust.
