Recipe type: Sauce
Cuisine: American
Serves: 2 cups gravy
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons dairy-free buttery spread or olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups dairy-free beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 20 turns fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped rosemary
Instructions
  1. Heat the buttery spread or olive oil in a small pot over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute while whisking.
  2. Gradually whisk in the beef broth. Add the salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil while whisking. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the rosemary.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer the gravy until thickened to your desired consistency, whisking often.
Notes
Apple Stuffing Bites: Melt 2 tablespoons dairy-free buttery spread in a large pan. Add 2 cups diced envy apples and ¾ cup diced yellow onion (about ½ small onion), and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes. Add 3 cups leftover stuffing (equivalent to 1 box Stove Top stuffing), and stir to combine. Spread stuffing on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in the refrigerator to cool. Form stuffing into 2-inch balls and place back on the baking sheet. Broil the bites until golden brown and slightly crispy, flipping once to evenly brown, a few minutes per side. Serve hot with the gravy.
