Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken is Returning to the Dairy-Free Menu!

By Alisa Fleming on October 26, 2022 In The News, News

Arguably the biggest dairy-free upset of this year was an accidental formula change to the Grilled Chicken Nuggets and Grilled Chicken Filets at Chick-fil-A. This fast food chain has been a favorite among dairy-free consumers for their waffle fries and grilled chicken options. But in August of 2022, a supplier mishap added milk to all of the Chick-fil-A grilled chicken products. Today, we’re happy to announce the official return of their dairy-free recipes starting this weekend.

Chick-fil-A Removes Dairy Allergen from their Grilled Chicken

Chick-fil-A immediately put out alerts on their allergen chart and ordering apps when the grilled chicken changed, but they were still flooded with customer concerns. It does take time to make formula changes and to push inventories through. Nevertheless, their team reacted as quickly as possible, and they have resolved the issue! A representative from the company gave us the following statement.

We can now confirm that the dairy ingredient will be fully removed from both the Grilled Filets and the Grilled Nuggets starting Friday, October 28th. Food safety and quality are our top priorities, and we take great care in adhering to stringent food safety procedures. The supplier has implemented corrective actions to ensure this does not happen again. We take seriously the trust our Guests place in us to make sure their food is how they expect it, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Here on Go Dairy Free, we have updated our Chick-fil-A Dairy-Free Menu Guide to reflect this good news and will make additional updates if any other menu changes arise.

    Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Allergen Notes

As always, it’s important to note that all food products are at some degree of risk for potential cross contamination with allergens. Chick-fil-A does prepare foods that contain dairy in their kitchens. Always speak with a manager before ordering if potential cross contamination is a concern for you. Only you can decide what is safe for your dietary needs.
