Alisa Fleming ~ For years I ignored the fuss around coffee creamer. As someone who has never treasured the bitter bean, I assumed this type of product simply wasn’t for me. Oh how wrong I was. A new soy-free, dairy-free creamer has changed my tune, and I’ve been in non-stop experiment mode since that first sip.
No, I don’t drink dairy-free creamer straight-up in a martini glass, but really, you could if you wanted to! The new Barista-Style Coconut Milk Dairy Free Creamer from So Delicious is that smooth. It’s deliciously creamy, yet perfectly fluid, and not so indulgent that you couldn’t enjoy a splash (or three, or four) every day. As an added bonus, it is soy-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly! But first, a little more on these creamers …
The French Vanilla Barista-Style Creamer is almost shockingly sweet when tasted straight, but Tony loved it in his morning coffee, proclaiming it to be the perfect flavor – no sweetener required (and that man likes his sugar)! I also fell in love with the amazing flavor it can add to hot beverages, and am excited to test it out in dessert recipes as a substitute for light cream or half and half.
The Original Barista-Style Creamer has a much more subdued flavor; I would say the sweet flavor and luxurious texture are pretty much on par, and quite complimentary. The delicate flavor makes it even more versatile – perfect for recipes or a lower sugar beverage …
Mexican Dairy-Free Hot Chocolate
One of my first experiments was a low sugar hot chocolate. The barista-style dairy-free creamer makes for a very quick and easy recipe, and a hot chocolate that is neither too watery nor too rich. I opted to use the Original-flavored dairy-free creamer, and sweetened with stevia to keep the sugars low. But you can use the vanilla dairy-free creamer or simply sweeten to taste.
- 1/2 cup boiled water
- 1/2 cup So Delicious Original Barista-Style Coconut Milk Creamer
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (or carob)
- Very generous pinch or two ground cinnamon
- 5 drops plain or vanilla stevia or 1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener of choice
Whisk all ingredients together in a mug, and enjoy. If your dairy-free creamer was chilled, heat the beverage gently in a saucepan or for 30 seconds in the microwave.
Speedy Dairy-Free Chai Tea
Herbal chai tea is my favorite daily luxury, but when I added the vanilla dairy-free creamer, it was escalated to a new coffee shop level. Recipes really don’t get any easier than this one, but it was still too good not to share!
- 1-3/4 to 2 cups hot boiled water
- 1 to 2 chai tea bags (I use just 1 bag of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea, which is quite strong)
- 1/4 cup So Delicious French Vanilla Barista-Style Coconut Milk Creamer
Steep the tea bags in the hot water for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in the dairy-free creamer and enjoy your “better than Starbucks” soy-free chai tea!

Mmm, anything to perk up my coffee!
Great to know about this new product, Alisa! I’m not much of a hot beverage person, but I am constantly getting asked by people for quick DF creamer recipes or brands to recommend. Looks like this one’s a winner. 🙂
And here I am, totally weaned off of creamer, and you tempt me with this indulgence! 🙂 Gotta try it out. Thanks for sharing!
