Last Update in July 2023! Dairy is in so many foods, on so many production lines, that it’s hard to find products without a “may contain” statement for milk. Not to mention, those statements are voluntary – many products have high dairy cross-contamination risk and no warning label. But I want to focus on the positive side of things. Which food companies go above and beyond for dairy-free consumers? After a great deal of research, I’ve found dozens of food manufacturers that actually use dedicated dairy-free facilities for production.
We originally created this guide exactly one year ago, and at that time, we found a whopping 75 companies that use dedicated dairy-free facilities. But we continuously update, so this list continues to grow. And today, on the one year anniversary of this list, we have reached 100 food brands!
100 Food Brands that use Dedicated Dairy-Free Facilities
IMPORTANT – Read this First: This information was acquired from the companies listed, but ingredients, processes, and manufacturing facilities are subject to change at anytime. And a food can become cross-contaminated with an allergen at any stage from farm to package. Remember, there is no such thing as 100% allergen-free.
If you are dealing with a severe food allergy or sensitivity, always contact the manufacturer to discuss their current processes before purchase and consumption. This post is for informational purposes only, and should not replace your own due diligence. Companies and products listed here are not guaranteed to be safe for your individual and familial needs. Only you can decide what is safe for you and your family.
I have included direct links to the company websites below, where you can find contact information. Please kindly let us know if you have confirmed that any companies or processes have changed.
This post is not sponsored by any company in any way. These listings are alphabetical and unbiased. There are some affiliate store links in this post, because we are affiliates for some online stores and we hope the direct links help you find the products easily. All proceeds from affiliate commissions help us maintain Go Dairy Free for you. We appreciate your support.
Just because a brand isn’t on this list does not mean they are not a dairy-free friendly company. Many companies use strict allergen protocols and some even use dedicated lines and do allergen testing. This post focuses on companies that have the capability to add an extra layer of safety by using dairy-free facilities for production.

FAQs
Why isn’t my favorite dairy-free brand on this list?
For one of two reasons. Either they don’t use a dairy-free facility for production, or we weren’t aware that they use a dairy-free facility for production. We went through hundreds of companies, but of course, we are going to miss some! If you have confirmed that they use a dairy-free facility, let us know! But if not, keep in mind that many dairy-free products are made on shared facilities and often even on shared lines.
If a brand isn’t on this list, does that mean it isn’t safe for milk allergies?
No. There are many brands that follow strict cleaning processes, have allergen testing protocols, and/or use dedicated dairy-free lines. This list covers only products made in dedicated dairy-free facilities. Contact companies directly to find out their procedures.
If a brand is on this list, does that mean it is safe for milk allergies?
No. As mentioned above, there is no such thing as 100% allergen-free. Only you can decide what is safe enough for your needs. If dealing with a strict food allergy, always contact the company to discuss their current ingredients, processes, facility, and sourcing. Each of these factors can change at any time. This list is just a helpful guide for ideas.
Why do you only cover dedicated dairy-free facilities and not dedicated dairy-free lines?
The latter is more of a gray area. Is the line dairy-fee due to rotation, or does the company only make dairy-free products on that line 100% of the time? What is the likelihood that they could switch to another line in the facility in the near future? Where is that line located in the facility? Is it next to a cheddar chip manufacturer where cheese dust could easily spread? Are some flavors made on a dedicated line but not others? The more variables added, the harder it is to assess. Dairy-free facilities are more straight-forward, and we think a great starting point for finding dairy-free brands. Not to mention, there are still about 100 of them on this list!
Why do you list coconut and tree nuts separately?
According to the FDA food allergy labeling law, coconut is considered a tree nut. But coconut is not actually a tree nut, and coconut allergies are no more common in people with tree nut allergies than they are in people without tree nut allergies. We list them separately since most people (not all!) with tree nut allergies can safely consume coconut. No one seems to firmly know why the FDA did this, and getting the policy changed has proven difficult.
Why are there so few Dairy-Free Ice Creams, Milks, and Creamers on this list?
Unfortunately, most dairy-free ice creams, milks, and creamers are made in dairy facilities, and usually on shared lines at some point during the production process. This is often the case even if there isn’t a “may contain” label on the product. But most dairy alternative producers do follow allergen protocols to help prevent cross-contamination with milk.

You might check out Dave’s Killer Bread site for dairy free English Muffins. Have trouble finding them locally but when I do I buy two or three packs and freeze them.
That’s a great dairy-free brand! They didn’t make this specific list since they don’t use a dairy-free facility. This is what the company sent to us: “Our breads, buns, bagels and English Muffins do not contain dairy (MILK). However, some may be manufactured in a facility that produces products containing dairy (MILK). We clean our facility and lines, however we cannot guarantee that a trace amount would not be left on the lines or in the facility.”
My allergy is whey protein in dairy. does dairy alternatives have
whey?
Whey is one of the primary proteins in dairy. If a product has whey in it, then it should be disclosed as milk or dairy. The company’s and / or products named here do not use dairy, so they also would not use whey. By definition, if something is dairy-free by ingredients, it is also whey-free by ingredients.
