Food Allergy Bracelets for All Ages: From Adorable to Fashionable

Allergy awareness isn’t just a once a year event. For people with food allergies, and parents of kids with food allergies, it’s a daily job. Your constantly talking to families, friends, restaurant staff, and others to ensure an mistake doesn’t happen. That’s why food allergy bracelets can be so important. For kids, they’re a reminder and an alert, and for adults, they’re essential if an emergency happens.

That’s why I put together this fun list of food allergy bracelets. They range from fun, durable options for kids, to fashion-forward designs for adults that come in various materials. They’re all customizable to your food allergy concerns, and most can also cover other allergies, medical conditions, and more.

    AllerBling

These well-thought wristbands are intended for children ages 3 to 8 years old. They sell kits with different sized bands and multiple charms, but be careful which one you buy. Some don’t include a dairy allergy charm. These food allergy bracelets only come in one color – bright orange so that it’s easy to spot. But the charms are mix and match. You can fill each whole with the same charm, if your child only has one medical issue, or with an assortment. In addition to various food allergies, they have charms for asthma, diabetes, and a few other awareness issues.

    Allermates

This all-things-allergy company makes various awareness products, from medicine cases to lunch bags. And they have two types of food allergy bracelets. Their single allergy bracelets (pictured below) are bright, colorful, and hard to miss. They’re BPA, latex, and nickel-free, and have a soft, pliable texture that kids love.

Allermates also offers “charm” bracelets, which are similar to the ones made by Allerbling. The charm selection includes a wide range of allergens (foods, bees, pets, etc), medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, autism), dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free), and more. These are a great alternative to medic alert bracelets for young kids.

    Lauren’s Hope

When “cute” just won’t cut it anymore, there’s Lauren’s Hope. They make all types of engraveable medic alert bracelets for girls, boys, and adults. You can choose from nickel-free stainless steel, leather, crystal, sterling silver, and other types. They have dozens of styles and frequently add new designs. They even offer options that can be worn continuously – in the shower and even while swimming.

This isn’t a food allergy-specific brand, but many people with severe food allergies purchase these bracelets. I learned about them while working with Allergic Living magazine and have always loved their simple, pretty designs.

    Road ID

We’re a little disappointed that they talk about every top food allergen but dairy. Nonetheless, Road ID custom engraves your allergy bracelet with whatever you need. These are durable type bracelets that hold up well during active pursuits and have room for your full details – and even an inspirational message if you wish – on the plaque. They come in basic women’s, men’s, and kid’s sizing, and you can choose between stretch, leather, and silicone bands.
