Kellogg Acquires RXBAR for $600 Million + More Dairy-Free News

This week in our dairy-free Friday News Bites, RXBAR finds a new super-sized home and we’re celebrating more fall flavor releases.

Kellogg Acquires RXBAR for $600 Million

Kellogg is taking another bite of the natural food industry with the purchase of RXBAR, a Chicago-based paleo protein bar company. This healthy investment comes on the heels of Kelloggs’ new CEO arrival, Steven A. Cahillane from Nature’s Bounty. RXBAR says it will still be operating independently, however, it will use Kelloggs’ platform to help them scale more quickly. They also see big benefits ahead in R&D, distribution, and consumer reach.

RXBAR is a purely dairy-free company with an array of protein-packed bar flavors. Their simple base is a blend of egg whites, nuts, and dates. If you confuse eggs for dairy, you’re not alone! See this post: Are Eggs Dairy?
